Griha Pravesh: Choosing a Muhurat and Preparing the Home

Griha Pravesh is the ceremony of entering a new home. A pandit chooses a muhurat from the panchang, avoiding inauspicious tithis and considering the owner's chart.

The ceremony usually includes Ganesh puja, Vastu shanti, Navagraha sthapana and a havan, followed by boiling milk in the new kitchen as a symbol of abundance.
