About this puja
Rudrabhishek is the ceremonial bathing of the Shivling with milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar and Gangajal while the Sri Rudram from the Yajurveda is chanted. It is one of the most revered offerings to Lord Shiva.
It is traditionally performed for good health, mental peace, protection from negative energies and the easing of planetary afflictions, and is especially auspicious on Mondays, in the month of Shravan and on Mahashivratri.
